8th Annual Play for Emily Golf Tournament

The Tournament
The Wade family and your local McDonald’s owner-operators, in cooperation with the Ronald McDonald Houses of Chapel Hill, Durham and Greenville, are proud to announce the Seventh Annual Play for Emily Memorial Golf Tournament.
When Emily Ann Wade was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor, Emily and her family were blessed by the Chapel Hill House’s overwhelming support. After Emily’s untimely death, the family wished to preserve the bond and somehow repay a fraction of what they received. The Play for Emily Golf Tournament was created in 2005 as a way for family and friends to give back to an organization that helped the Wades in their time of need.

The Course
Nestled along the Intracoastal Waterway the course features rolling oak and pine lined fairways, strategic sand and grass bunkering, Bermuda grass in the fairways and rough, smooth, undulating Bent Grass greens, and water on15 of 18 holes. The layout offers many shot-making challenges...and few golfers will come away from the course without hitting every club in their bag.
The first 18-holes takes strategic advantage of Landfall's saltwater and freshwater marshes in a double loop configuration that is both challenging and uniquely beautiful. The incorporation of natural wetlands gives the course a distinctive look while preserving a valuable resource. Holes are placed on bluff areas that provide beautiful views overlooking the waterway.
